Last night Donald Rumsfeld told Fox News that U.S. diplomacy would be better if Obama was a ‘trained ape.’
Donald Rumsfeld, in case you forgot, told President Bush, the ape he trained, to invade Iraq after 9/11 because the real country behind the attack, Afghanistan, wasn’t a “target rich environment.” And we all know how that decision turned out. A million dead Iraqis, more than 4,000 dead Americans, chaos, and trillions of dollars added to our national debt.
It’s also worth noting that the CIA had Bin Laden cornered after 9/11. But Rumsfeld didn’t want George Tenet to get the collar, so he convinced the White House to order Tenet to stand down, and Rumsfeld devised his own plan in 2001 to kill Bin Laden. Ten years and another “trained ape” in the oval office later Bin Laden was finally dead.
We all know that, don’t we? Or do we? Are we capable of remembering anything? Do we remember that President Obama was the one who killed Bin Laden? Do we remember that Rumsfeld got everything wrong about everything? I sometimes wonder considering the frequency we still hear from these charlatans like Rumsfeld, Cheney and Wolfowitz.
These guys were wrong on everything and yet they still get to opine. Granted they’re mostly on Fox News, but they still show up from time to time on what you might consider more legitimate mainstream news programs like Meet The Press.
After 9/11 all we heard was “Never Forget.” We have forgotten everything.
Ah, what the hell. Henry Kissinger is still vetting GOP presidential nominees to make sure those “trained apes” are ignorant enough about foreign policy to be controlled by Wall Street. Kissinger broke so many laws as Nixon’s national security adviser up until just recently he couldn’t visit countries like Spain for fear of getting arrested.
Oh, and one more thing about Kissinger. Invading Iraq was the biggest mistake we made in Iraq. The second biggest mistake in Iraq was disbanding Saddam Hussein’s army and thereby creating a network of Sunni terrorists.
Whose idea was it to send Hussein’s army home? Administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority of Iraq Paul Bremer, one of Kissinger’s “trained apes.”
Bremer did it without consulting anyone in the Bush White House. Bush was appalled. But couldn’t do anything because he didn’t know the difference between a Sunni and Shiite, and had to depend on his trainers who did.
This brings us to Rumsfeld’s latest comments about President Obama. How do these people sleep at night? Sadly, they have no problem.
